More than 7 months ago since Nintendo and The Pokémon Company showed us what was going to be the next installment of the most profitable franchise in the history of video games. With an unusual Live-action trailer, they revealed the names of this installment: scarlet Pokémon and Pokémon Purple, thus marking the beginning of the ninth generation of these adorable and dangerous monsters. More than 23 years have passed since the first adventures of this strange universe arrived in our hands, and we cannot say that the spirits have declined around this saga. In the absence of a few weeks to launch the new games, the hype is in the clouds.

PALDEA: A region ... that seems familiar.
How could it be otherwise, a new generation always brings with it a region to explore, full of new characters and a totally unique adventure. And in this case, we moved to Paldea. A region with very varied landscapes, in which we can see valleys, deserts, mountains, lakes. A priori, it is a region with quite potential, something typical of Game Freak games. But this region is different for us. With that map it is difficult to realize but ... what if I tell you that Paldea is based on the Iberian Peninsula? Wait, we clarify it a little.
We can see that things begin to square. The Peñón de Gibraltar, the Andalusia Green and its Orography, a more arid area in Murcia and Alicante (which we assume represents Almeria too), the Pyrenees and the Cíes Islands among others. Of course, as usual in the saga, quite a few licenses are taken (Madrid is a hurricane?) So do not expect everything to be identical to reality. Even so, there are comparative YouTube as this in which the cities that have been seen in the trailers also analyze and everything seems to indicate that they have strived to really feel like a Pokémon version of our country and that of our neighbors to the west.

The ninth generation comes strongly
Of course, the greatest novelty of new Pokémon games are Pokémon themselves. You can see the initial Pokémon up here. According to leaks, there would be up to 103 Pokémon totally new, including exclusive regional forms of Paldea. An open world that will revolutionize the saga
One of the best novelties of this delivery will be freedom. From Game Freak they wanted to make the first real open world game of the saga. You can go wherever you want. It was revealed that the structure of the game will be divided into three plots that will end up joining at the end. The first one will be the classic collection of gym medals and the Pokémon League. But there is no official order, you can vary to your liking what a medal to do first. It has not yet been clarified whether the "world level" will advance with you or perhaps some gyms are extremely difficult at certain heights of the game, but of course it is a great incentive to be able to choose. The second of the stories is also the classic rivalry with an evil band, which will presumably link directly with the third, which will be the story related to the legendary and salvation of the region. Be that as it may, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Purple will let us choose our own adventure, with a non -existent freedom to date.
Cooperative mode takes an important weight
This year they have also wanted to revitalize the multiplayer. Before it was quite capable, limited to a very closed area and with very few activities to do. In scarlet and purple Pokémon, the thing changes. Game Freak proposes a total cooperative, in which you can travel the entire region with your friends. It is still unknown if you can advance in history with them, but what you can fight against them, teach them your Pokémon and let them encourage you in fighting against other coaches. And ride Koraidon and Miraidon (according to the version you choose) and ride those Pokémon Moto to the point of the map that you like best. If you like to play with friends, it is a great addition.
DLC will increase the life of the game
As will happen in Pokémon sword and shield, the new strategy is to launch DLC instead of a third version of the new installment. Seeing how many of the aspects of these games are improving, it would not be surprising that they also take a step forward in the downloadable content. New areas, new Pokémon, new movements or even a new plot to explore. For this we will have to wait, but its existence is practically confirmed.
