The myth after Loki's character

Loki It is one of the most fun and loved characters of Marvel Universe. Thor's brother and enemy of the Avengers, the figure of Loki comes directly from the Nordic mythology. In Marvel they have used this mythology to form the history of God in Thor's first film, but there is much more about him.

The history of Nordic mythology, among which Loki is a great protagonist, are collected in the Edda, a book that collects the myths of antiquity in the Viking culture. In him, Loki was represented as "The God of Arthimañas" or the "Origin of all fraud". The truth is that Loki is always accompanied by negative connotations, although in the stories of Edda it is told as helping the gods on numerous occasions and getting desired objects.

It was the role he played in the death of God Balder, was what made him be enmity with the rest. Loki also becomes the Causing of Ragnarok ("The final destiny of the gods" the destruction of the world), but then helps the gods to overcome it. This also happens in Marvel movies, which have used mythology a lot to create the role of Loki and its role in history.

Another characteristic Loki feature that appears both in mythology and films is its peculiar way to use the wordto. Lokasenna ("The blasphemies of Loki") is a poem by the prosaic Edda in which we talk about the sharp language of God. This poem shows the manipulative side De Loki, and tells us how Loki deceives Thor in a fight with the giant Geirrǫðr. This is what constantly happens in films, which Loki uses the word to manipulate Thor, or create enmity among avengers for their own benefit.

Loki's character is very interesting and Marvel has been in charge of showing, in a subtle way, many of the details that make the Nordic God a figure within the UCM.
